Local Restaurant Enjoys Popularity Among Diners and Reviews Alike


Boise, ID (PRWEB) June 13, 2008 -- In the April 18, 2008 edition of PLAY Magazine, an Idaho Press Tribune publication, restaurant reviewer Mike Butts writes of his visit to Bajio Mexican Grill in his article "Bajio Grill offer Mexican with benefits". The Bajio chain includes restaurants in Idaho and seven other states. The restaurant which was the focus of Butts' April article was the Bajio Mexican Grill, managed by Ivan Torres, located at 1492 Entertainment Way in Boise.

Bajio Mexican Grill, named after the Bajio (meaning "lowlands") region of Central Mexico, is located in the Edwards 22 Spectrum business complex. Butts notes for his readers that the menu shares that the Bajio region is well known for the unique way in which its inhabitants raise and prepare their beef. Butts writes, "From my experience, the herbs and spices used to prepare other foods also stands out."

A counter service-style restaurant, Bajio Mexican Grill offers a wide variety of traditional Mexican choices and is particularly known for their generous serving portions. All dished are served in aluminum to-go tins which, Butts is quick to mention, does not take away from the quality or flavor of the food. Instead, he cheers their foresightedness, remarking that he and his dining companion were able to take home enough food from their dining excursion to enjoy another meal at home.

Butts describes Bajio as a "small but attractively decorated in a Southwestern style." On the evening of his visit the restaurant, he and his companion happily sampled Fajita Clasica with Chicken and Sweet Onion Enchiladas with both red and green sauces. Both of the dishes were accompanied with a choice of either black, refried, or "borracho" beans and Mexican or sweet chili rice. Butts writes, "Rice and beans are seldom the highlight of a Mexican meal, but at Bajio they challenge anything on the menu for satisfying taste."

Butts concludes his article with a glowing endorsement of the restaurant for anyone in the Treasure Valley area. "Look for it if you want to try Mexican food with surprising benefits."
